How Much Does Embroidery Digitizing Cost?
Flat rate vs per-stitch pricing, what raises the price, and how to keep costs down without hurting quality.

Short, plain guides that answer the questions customers ask us most — what digitizing costs, how to send artwork that works the first time, and which file format your machine actually needs.
Digitizing has a lot of jargon, and most of it hides simple ideas. A stitch file is just a set of instructions that tells your machine where to put each stitch, in what order, and with what kind of stitch. The questions around it are simple, too. How much should it cost? What should you send so the work starts clean? And which file will your machine read? These three guides answer those three questions in plain English, with no sales talk and no padding.
Start with the cost guide if you are comparing quotes — it explains why two prices for the same logo can be far apart, and which pricing style suits repeat work. Read the artwork guide before your next order if a past job came back with filled-in letters or rough edges; most of those problems start in the file that was sent, not at the machine. Read the formats guide if you have ever loaded a file and watched your machine show the wrong colors, or refuse the file at all. Each guide ends with the same honest offer: if you still are not sure, send us the design and we will tell you what it needs.

Read Guide
What each format is, which machines read them, and why a DST file carries no thread colors.
Read GuideShop owners who outsource digitizing and want to judge a quote with clear eyes. Brand and team buyers who order the same logo in several sizes and placements, and need each version planned — not just shrunk. Home embroiderers moving from stock designs to their own artwork for the first time. And boutiques in the fashion wing, where a neckline or border order needs garment details a logo order never asks for.
If that sounds like several different readers, it is. The thread that joins them is the order itself: artwork in, questions answered, proof approved, file delivered. The guides follow that same path, so what you read here matches what actually happens when you order from this studio.
They will not promise that a cheap file sews like a careful one, and they will not hide our own prices while explaining everyone else's. Our published prices appear in the cost guide as one clear example of flat pricing: $13 for a logo, left-chest, or cap design up to 4.5 inches, $23 up to 8 inches, and $37 for a jacket back up to 12 inches, with set add-ons. You can hold any quote — ours included — against the checks in these pages.
Read them in the order of an actual job and they form one short course. The cost guide comes first, while you are still deciding who should do the work, because it teaches you how to read a quote: flat or per-stitch, proof included or not, revisions free or billed by the fix. The artwork guide comes next, on the day you place the order, because ten minutes of prep there decides whether your first proof is a yes or a redo. The formats guide comes last, when the file arrives, because that is when wrong-format and wrong-color panics happen — and both turn out to be simple once someone explains what a machine file really holds.
Each guide also stands alone. If your machine refused a file this morning, go straight to the formats guide and use its table. If a quote made you raise an eyebrow, the cost guide's five questions will tell you in one message whether it is fair. And if a test sew just failed, the artwork guide's small-detail section will likely name the cause. Bookmark the page that solved your problem; the same problem tends to visit every shop twice.
